To demonstrate the versatility of the new Xilinx Virtex" series of programmable FPGAs, Avnet Design Services has created the Virtex Development System (Download Datasheet). The Virtex Development System gives you a significant advantage in your designs and helps reduce development cycles by allowing immediate development and functionality testing.
In addition to the development board, the Virtex Development System also includes either the Foundation Series or Alliance Series development software version 2.1i from Xilinx, a Xilinx fitter cable, JTAG cable, documentation and packaging.
To enhance performance of versions 2.1i, Xilinx introduced the new MultiLINX" cable(PCs and workstations) that allows you to take advantage of the USB port found on newer PCs and delivers the ultimate in downloading performance: Up to 12Mbits/second throughput.
